Edge wear, corners worn to boards, spine ends worn with short tears and small losses to cloth; cloth along rear spine edge torn almost entire length of book. Boards show discolouration and some marks. No jacket. Front hinge cracked, binding cracked in other areas causing text block to be a bit loose; prior owners’ book plates on front paste-down, name stamped on FEP; short top edge tears and pin holes on FEP with some erased pencil. Old faded water marks in upper fore-edge corners; pages toned with a few having short edge tears. Black & white frontis of Osler with tissue guard intact. Inked missive on dedication page dated 1955; ink and pencil page numbers on rear paste-down. Remainder of interior clean and unmarked; black & white illustrations and photos; newspaper and magazine clippings laid in. From the library of George Gordon Campbell (book plate on paste-down and name stamped on FEP and top page block) who authored “Common Diseases of the Skin With Notes on Diagnosis And Treatment”. Volume I of two volumes of the biography of William Osler, being The Canadian Period 1849-1884, and The United States 1884-1905.
