James Lorimer, Toronto, 1977.  ISBN 0-88862-144-2.  Oblong hard cover, 239 pages.  Very good; tan cloth with brown lettering on spine; very light edge wear; binding sound with headbands.  Dust jacket with price intact shows edge and cover wear, short edge tears, small losses, old water mark at top front edge visible only on verso.  Inscription on first page; some small spots on first few preliminary pages; remainder of interior clean and unmarked.  ‘Twice in this century Canada has gone to war in Europe.  During both conflicts, the servicemen and women recorded their experiences and expressed their feelings in letters, journals, stories, songs and drawings.  Also, many of Canada’s best artists were commissioned by the government as official war artists to paint the Canadian forces in action.  This is the best of the painting and writing of these two world wars.’ (from front flap)
