Description

Thomas Nelson and Sons, London, no date, but appears early 1900s.  Hard cover, 154 pages including Appendix.  Cream boards with blue lettering and illustration on front board, blue lettering on spine; some soil and fox/age spotting on boards; some rubs on rear board.  Binding sound, cracked at p. 154, with all pages secure; spine ends bumped with a bit of wear, corners bumped and worn with some fraying.  End-papers tanned with age spotting; foxing/age-toning on outer page block and some interior pages; scrape causing tear on pages 3 with no loss of paper.  Faded 'Specimen Copy' stamped on front end-paper; remainder of interior clean and unmarked.  ‘This book has been written to illustrate the lessons outlined for Standard V. in the “Graduated Syllabus of Moral Instruction for Elementary Schools,” issued by the Moral Instruction League, and is largely based on Notes of Lessons furnished by various teachers on forms supplied for the purpose by the League … An endeavour has been made to indicate how Moral Lessons may be so given as to be, above all, interesting.’ (from Preface)
