Black boards with grey graphics and lettering on front and spine; light edge, corner and spine end wear; a few marks on boards, outer page block tanned with age spots and some soil; binding sound with a lean. No jacket. Interior clean and unmarked with lightly tanned pages; some age spotting, straightened occasional corner bend. Though written in 1928, this espionage/thriller novel takes place in 1940. A British tennis player inadvertently receives classified documents while travelling. The novel anticipates pre-World War II tensions and actions of some European leaders.
