Description

Ward, Lock & Co., London and Melbourne, 1931, believe First.  Hard cover, 195 pages including Indices.  Red cloth over boards with black lettering and ruling on front board and spine, King of Hearts on front board.  Some wear at spine ends and corners with tiny bits of board exposed at three of the corners, and a touch of fraying; small tear to cloth at fore-edge of front board.  Spine a bit sunned; cloth at spine ends worn with very tiny splits.  Hinges are a bit tender with all pages securely bound.  No jacket.  Interior pages clean and unmarked; Errata printed opposite title page; 242 colour and black & white illustrations throughout.  Covers the history and evolution of playing cards, tarot cards, European varieties, Makers of playing cards, etc.
