Dutton, New York, October 1968 reprint (6th) of the Completely New and Revised May 1957 edition; former Library Book with usual treatments, stamps and flaws.  Hard cover, 251 pages including Index.  Red boards with black lettering on front and spine; tape on front and rear boards; corners plus top and bottom edges show wear with some board exposed and some fraying; spine ends show wear to cloth with some fraying.  Binding is sound; a few small stains/spots on outer page block.  Dust jacket has lower inside corner flap clipped, some edge wear, small tears/losses at spine ends and corners, and a larger loss at top front corner.  Library label on spine; jacket covered in clear plastic jacket; tape on flaps.  Front end paper has been removed; library stamp on title page; number stamped and ink notation on copyright page; pocket on rear end paper and stain at top edge.  No other library markings noted in text; only occasional mark/soil/age spot on interior pages; straightened dog-ears and corner bends; all text very readable.  ‘In simple, straight-forward language, he tells us exactly how this mysterious condition of the human brain and consciousness can be brought about, what can be done by its means – and also what cannot be done.  How the hypnotic trance can be used in medicine, for educational purposes, and in other ways.’ (from front flap)
