Corners bumped and worn to boards, spine ends bumped and worn with small tears and losses to cloth; rear board blind stamped; edge wear; small spots on boards and small tear to cloth on rear board; all edges gilt. Gift inscription on front paste-down marked out; prior owner’s name and address on FEP; old water marks on first few pages; black & white frontis of author, title page to page 2 detached but present. Heavy foxing/spotting on first few pages, lighter at rear pages and only occasional age spot within text. Binding cracked in areas; front hinge a bit weak and cracked at title page, possibly from tissue guard being removed.
